"Candor"

Candor is a hard virtue. We don't want o harp about the mote in other people's eyes, but we don't want people to live in sin that could damage their souls. Candor isn't talked about much in our society. At the top of this card it says, "What Mary wants from me is". At the bottom of the card it says in big letters "Candor". Below that it says, "Purity makes us similar to angels, it brings us closer to God and makes us worthy of our holy Mother." But how are we to be candid?

Perhaps we should consider Paul's command, "Speak the truth in Love." (Ephesians 4:15). And let the promptings of the Holy Spirit tell us when, always asking Him or Mary if we are in doubt. It's great to remember that all our virtues are gifts from God. What we have to do with them is that we respond to God's promptings. Let us speak without nagging, without alienating people from God. Let us speak when we need to, when we discern God wants us to. Let us be truthful, especially to ourselves. Let us have candor, gentle and loving!
